PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the optical recording/reproducing method capable of recording and reproducing with high sensitivity even when the improvement of recording density is contrived. SOLUTION: The recording layer 14a of an optical disk 14, which is furnished with also a plasmon exciting part while the information is optically recordable, is irradiated by a laser beam 11 through a condensing lens 12 and a SIL 13. By the SIL 13, the laser beam 11 from the condensing lens 12 is attained to the recording layer 14a in such a manner that the wavelength of the laser beam 11 is made shorter than that of the time when the beam is transmitted in the air. The plasmon excitation is made on the recording layer 14a by the beam attained from the SIL 13, then the information is recorded and reproduced by the near-field light having the intensity of several tens times to several hundreds times the normal near-field light (electromagnetic field), generated by this plasmon. |
