<p>PURPOSE:To make the feeling of operation of a steering wheel satisfactory, by feeding a low current to a motor for effecting an assist force when the steering force of the steering wheel is small and by feeding a high current to the motor when the steering force is large. CONSTITUTION:The output of a sensor 1 for detecting a steering force is delivered to a current instruction generator 2 and a left and right rotation switching unit 3. The current instruction generator 2 determines an instruction value of current fed to a motor 11, and the left and right rotation switching unit 3 determines the rotating direction of the motor 11. When the steering force is small, the current instruction value is low, and a dropper circuit 5a or 5b energizes a transistor 8a or 8b to feed a low current to the motor 11. Further, when the steering force is large, the current instruction value becomes large, and therefore, a chopper circuit 6a or 6b changes over the energization of a transistor 9a or 9b so that a high current is fed to the motor 11.</p> |
