PURPOSE:To make the capacity of a prime mover smaller and to save energy by connecting a power supplying means having a big moment of inertia to a pair of rolls driven by the prime mover of small capacity. CONSTITUTION:A power supply device 18 incorporating a rotary body 17 having a big moment of inertia of a fly wheel, etc. is connected to the input shaft side of a pinion stand 14 via a medium shaft 16, and the prime mover 19 of a motor, etc. is connected to the supply device 18 thereof. When the overlapping part of sheet bars is rolled between upper and lower rolls 6, 7, it is connected with pressure by the upper and lower rolls 6, 7. The joining load is abruptly increased due to the rolling into the upper and lower rolls 6, 7 of the overlapping part, but the energy of inertia is utilized for the power necessary for the increase thereof. |
