PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a tachykinin peptide which is isolated from the posterior salivary gland of the mollusk Octopus vulgaris, and purified, and gives a new approach to the medicine and agrochemical via the research on the correlation between the molecular structure and the activity. SOLUTION: This new peptide consists of twelve amino acids, has Lys in the N-terminal, and has the following five amino acids from the C-terminal: PheXaaGlyLeuMetNH2 (Xaa is Val, Ile, Phe or Tyr), especially has amino acid sequence H-LsyProProSerSerSerGluPheValGlyLeuMetNH2 or H- LysProProSerSerSerGluPheIleGlyLeuMetNH2. |
