PURPOSE:To reduce electric power consumption of the device, making additional heat source unnecessary, by using the heat accumulated in the substrate of the thermal recording head as the heat source for preheating recording paper beforehand through a heat pipe. CONSTITUTION:A heat pipe 5 is provided in contact with a substrate 2 of a recording head 1 directly or through the intermediary of a member of high heat conductivity, almost in paralllel with the line of heat-reistor elements 3 of the head 1, while one end side of the heat pipe 5, bent in the U-shape and extened, is thrusted in or contacted with a recording-paper pressing roller 4 which is used as well for a member to heat the recording paper beforehand. Hereby the heat transmittd successively from each element 3 to the substrate 2 and accoumulated there is received by the heat pipe 5 provided in contact with the substrate 2, and then transmitted, because of excellent heat conductivity of the heat pipe, to the part 5' of the pipe thrusted into the pressing roller 4 to heat the entire roller 4 with resultant rise in the temperature. As a result, the recording paper P is heated beforehand equally for every part thereof. |
