METHOD OF PRODUCING PIGMENT DISPERSION, PIGMENT DISPERSION AND INK JET RECORDING INK USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pigment ink for ink jet printer that can hold stabilized printing properties as the excellent storage stability is also retained in an ink jet printer that is equipped with miniaturized printing nozzles and the head driven with high frequency for extended definition picture and speed-up operation and method of producing the same. SOLUTION: The objective method of producing the pigment liquid dispersion is characterized by comprising the following three steps A, B and C: (A) at least hydrophilic dispersibility-imparting group is introduced directly and/or via another atomic group to the surfaces of the pigment particles; (B) the pigment obtained in the step (A) is dispersed in an aqueous medium; and (C) the dispersion obtained in the step (B) is purified.
