<p>PURPOSE:To stop the clinch operation of a stapler in response to detected thickness by detecting the thickness of a body inserted onto the bending base of the stapler. CONSTITUTION:The inserting section of a stapler 2 binding a sheet bundle (a body) P loaded onto a tray 90 is provided with a thickness detecting means 3 detecting the thickness of the sheet bundle P. The clinch operation of the stapler 2 is stopped automatically by the result of the detection of the thickness detecting means 3. Accordingly, when the thickness of the body (the sheet bundle or a foreign matter) inserted into the staper 2 reaches specified thickness or more, clinch operation is stopped and the damage of the stapler 2 is prevented, thus ensuring the safety of a user.</p> |
