<p>PURPOSE: To judge a particulate trap regenerating period with high reliability by monitoring an intake air amount of a diesel engine to determine the regenerating period when a change in the intake air weight per 1 cycle exceeds a predetermined value. CONSTITUTION: An intake air amount M, fuel injection amount Q, engine rotational frequency Ne are read in a calculating means 14 by detectors 11-13. The calculating means 14 calculates the volumetric efficiency (ηv)act with the temperature and pressure of air in an intake pipe inlet on the basis of the intake air amount M sucked during 1 cycle, obtains the reference volumetric efficiency (ηv)std with a map from the engine rotational frequency Ne and fuel injection amount Q and calculates a differenceΔηv between the volumetric efficiencyηvact and the reference volumetric efficiency (ηv)std. Next, a trap rate representing the condition of exhaust gas satisfactorily passing is obtained from the map of the engine rotational frequency Ne and volumetric efficiency differenceΔηv when the fuel injection amount Q is variously changed. When a judging means 15 judges the trap rate to exceed a predetermined value, a regenerating heater 17 is run through a control means 16 for regeneration.</p> |
