The system has a first collector (4) pre-heating a first heat-transfer medium flowing in a primary circuit (2), and a second collector (7) for further heating. The medium then flows through a consumer unit (8) and back to the first collector. A closed secondary circuit (11) contains a second heat-transfer medium. This absorbs heat losses from the second collector and transfers them to the low-temperature side of the primary circuit. A compressor (8) can be mounted between the first and second collectors, increasing the pressure of the first medium which is then heated in an intermediate collector. An absorber pipe for the first medium can be contained in each collector, the sunrays being concentrated on it by an oblong trough-shaped reflector.
