PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a signal processing method in which each signal specifying the intensities of four colors specifying the color of one pixel hardly becomes 0.

SOLUTION: This signal processing method comprises the steps of inputting three signals specifying the color of one pixel; and generating four signals from the input three signals, wherein each of those four signals represents the intensities of four different colors to display the color of one pixel by mixing colors, wherein the generating step includes a first converting step of converting the input three signals into two signals representing the intensities of two colors among the four colors and a signal representing the intensity of a mixed color obtained by mixing the four colors or the intensity of a mixed color obtained by mixing a plurality of colors among the four colors; and a second converting step of converting the signal presenting the intensity of the mixed color into a plurality of signals representing the intensities of a plurality of colors including at least other two colors different from the two colors.
