1324184 Door holders; frictional stays GKN STENMAN AB 17 Aug 1970 [4 Sept 1969] 39502/70 Headings E2A and E2F A holding device for a closure device comprises a braking device 2 pivoted to a fixed frame, and slidable on a bar 1 rotatable in the closure device the braking device having two spring biassed friction members 6 each friction member having an aperture 7 through which the bar passes, the friction members being rotatable by rotation of the bar from a position in which the friction members are parallel and retained in guide openings 10, 12 in a brake housing 4 to a position in which the friction members diverge in the divergent opening 11 under the action of blade springs 8 and movement of the bar in the housing is prevented and the closure device is held open. The bar 1 has a rectangular cross section and the friction members have rectangular openings therefor which may have a convex edge to increase the frictional engagement with the bar. The brake housing is released from the bar for relative movement therebetween by rotating the bar in the direction opposite to that for holding. The springs 8 may be joined and there may be several pairs of friction members. Alternatively for use with a modified espagnolette fastening the bar 1 is linked to a hinged fastening member for rotation thereby. |
