The analogue timepiece display has at least 2 coaxial display elements (12, 14) which rotate about the central axis of the timepiece mechanism above a stationary base plate (16). Each of the display elements has at least 2 optically differing partial surfaces (18, 20; 22, 24) which cooperate to provide a visual display element (26), eg for displaying the time in hours, which exhibits a width variation during the clockwise rotation of the visual display element (26). Pref. each display element (12, 14) comprises a disc, each of which has 2 semicircular partial surfaces with different optical characteristics cooperating to provide a segment shaped display element (26).
