PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active substance slurry for a negative electrode of nonaqueous electrolyte secondary cell capable of being coated evenly on a metal foil collector. SOLUTION: A carbon material capable of absorbing and liberating lithium, a binder containing water as a dispersing solvent, a viscosity-enhancing agent and a fluorinated detergent or the like are combined. It is desirable that the fluorinated detergent have a perfluoro-alkyl radical in its chemical structure.
