A tool used to straighten the metal portions of a vehicle supported on a support floor includes a hydraulically actuated cylinder 114 having an extensible plunger adapted to engage a tensioning chain intermediate its ends, the other end of the cylinder being mounted on a base 119 having a bottom surface for engaging the support floor and a pin 120 extending perpendicularly from the bottom surface and adapted to be received in a complimentary hole in the support floor. A pivotal connection between the cylinder and the base enables the cylinder to be inclined in use. Such pivotal connection may comprise a single axis pivot parallel to the support floor or a universal pivot joint. <IMAGE> |
