Retro-winder for stranding machine - with two contra-rotating rotors each with run=off spool and fixed guide ring

A method has been devised to tie up a stranded bandage on a reverse twist stranding machine by a retrowinder using a cross-lay stranding. Typically the retrowinder (2) has in common support stand (1) two contro-rotating rotors (3,4) which run in the bearings (5), driven by the motors (7) through chains (6). Each roller has a freely rotatable run-off spool (8,9) and a fixed guide ring (10,11). The threads are directed by deflection rollers (6,20,23) to the stranded cores (17) close to the stranding point (15). The finished cross-lay (14) is passed through a nipple (24), held by a tube (25). ADVANTAGE - This requires a minimum of appts, a min of floor space and produces a high-quality tied-up bandage. The retrowinder operates separate from the stranding machine.
