PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily and efficiently producing an industrially useful fluorine-containing α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid at low cost without using any expensive additive in particular. SOLUTION: This method for producing a fluorine-containing α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid comprises reaction between a fluorine-containing alkene halide and carbon dioxide in a solvent in the presence of zinc; wherein the reaction is performed in the presence of compound(s) A (a hydrogen halide and/or a halogen molecular at 0.001-0.1 equivalent based on zinc) and/or a compound B (water at 100-1,000 ppm based on the solvent), at 0-60 deg.C and in the presence of equivalent ratio of zinc to the fluorine-containing alkene halide of 0.1-10. |
