PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric spinning reel for fishing which prevents an operation for reeling a line with an excessive tension, when basic data are inputted into a line length-measuring device. SOLUTION: This electric spinning reel for imparting a prescribed tension to the line and reeling the line on a spool in a basic data-inputted mode state before a practical spinning operation and determining the basic data of the line length-measuring device from a spool revolution detected with a rotary detection means is characterized by comprising a line tension-measuring means for measuring the reeling tension of the line reeled on the spool in a basic data-inputting mode, a memorizing means for memorizing a prescribed reeling tension allowance condition, a control means for comparing the measurement value of the above line tension-measuring means with the above reeling tension allowance condition, and an information means, wherein the above control means makes the information means to inform, when the measurement value of the line tension-measuring means exceeds the reeling tension allowance condition.
