PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light spot type display unit which can perform a complicated color display in a matrix shape and is low-cost and adaptive to energy saving, in a light spot type display unit which tends to be a fixed and simple display device. SOLUTION: Light spot type display bodies 51 and 52 each constituted by continuously arranging three display members 2 which have reflection dots formed of very small recessed parts on the reverse surfaces 6 of translucent light guide plates and reflect the light from light sources 4 on light guide plate flanks 3 to make a display on the side of display surfaces 7 are prepared and the respective display surfaces 7 are stacked and arranged, side by side, in the same direction. The light sources 4 of the respective light guide plates of the respective light spot type display bodies are made by control means to emit light in desired emission colors and then a desired color display such as a composite color display is made on the stacked light spot type display bodies.
