The conversion of sea water to drinking water is carried out in a functional coupling with a power station (KW), which supplies electrical power (EE) and steam (D) and, if required, carbon dioxide to operate the desalination plant. In the course of processing, sulphate ions are removed from the sea water. The ion exchangers (IOT) used for this purpose are regenerated by means of a sodium chloride solution, the sodium chloride being obtained from the brine (S). <IMAGE> |
