PURPOSE: A device for fixing an upper cover in a washer is provided to vertically tighten a screw by improving fixing structure between reinforcing member and upper/rear covers and to increase assembly workability. CONSTITUTION: An upper cover fixing device of a washer comprises a housing(10) formed by a square case by opening an upper portion; an inserting port(21) withdrawing or inserting laundry; a cover(22) opening or closing the inserting port by being attached to an upper cover(20); a control panel(24) installed on a front side of the upper cover; plural controlling buttons(23) mounted on the control panel; a water supply valve(25) controlling water letting through a water supply pipe; a detergent dissolving device(26) storing the detergent; a pressure sensor(27) sensing water pressure of a water tank; a rear cover(30) protecting components by being fixed on a rear side of the upper cover through a screw(40); a reinforcing member(11) installed on the corner of the housing; and a fixing member(28) fixed on a rear side of the upper cover by the screw.
