PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve handiness and functions by appropriately displaying a plurality of distances when a plurality of distances are calculated. SOLUTION: The ranging device 1 is provided with a laser beam emitter 3 emitting a pulse like laser beam, a reflected light receiver 4 receiving reflected light, a distance calculator 10 determining a distance from elapsed time until reception of the reflected light, and a distance indicator 8 showing the distance. The distance calculator 10 has a counting part 11 counting frequencies when the reflected light satisfies a predetermined condition, a table preparing part 12 integrating the counted frequencies and preparing a frequency distribution table corresponding to distances, a distance determining part 13 determining a portion of a frequency of the frequency distribution table exceeding a threshold as a distance to a measured object, and a distance selecting part 15 selecting a predetermined distance when a plurality of distances are determined and displaying it in the distance indicator 8.
