<p>The gully housing (2) comprises a base (3) and peripheral wall (5), the latter containing a water outlet (6) and defining a water inlet (5) on its top side. A filter is located between the water inlet and outlet and extends in a vertical direction. A water distributor is mounted on the upstream side of the filter and includes a means for directing a horizontal flow of water towards the filter from the inlet. The water flow distributor comprises a bucket containing holes which are connected to a water directing means comprising a downwards-sloping apron secured to the bucket. An independent claim is also included for a gully (1) comprising a housing with a base and peripheral wall, the latter containing a water outlet and defining a water inlet on its top side; a vertically-oriented filter located between the water inlet and outlet; and a filter support device which is supported by the housing and includes a means for protecting the filter from solid objects. This protecting means comprises a grille or bar arrangement.</p> |
