In order to produce isocamphyl cyclohexanoles containing the carbon backbone of isocamphyl guaiacols or isocamphyl phenols, use is made of reduced, carrierless catalysts consisting of compressed (hydr)oxide powders of Co, Mn, Cu and possibly (hydr)oxides of the alkaline earth metals.
