PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method capable of controlling a transmission automatically switched by a select device by an operator in a short time. SOLUTION: According to this device and this method for controlling an automatically switching transmission 2 for a vehicle, a control device 1 for controlling a transmission 2 can be operated in two operation modes, the operation mode is selected by a first select device 3, in an automatic first operation mode, the speed change ratio (g) of the transmission is controlled substantially automatically according to the operation amount obtained by converters 5, 6, 7, and in a second operation mode in which a driver makes adjustment, the speed change ratio (g) of the transmission is controlled substantially regardless of a signal of a second select device 4. In this case, the control device is capable of switching the first operation mode sometimes to the second operation mode without select of the first select device 3 by the operation of the second select device 4. |
