organic chemistry, chemistry of proteins, pharmacy. SUBSTANCE: invention describes novel peptides used for treatment of patients suffering with depression. Indicated novel peptides are modifications of tripeptide hormone MIF synthesized among them by transformation of residues with terminal amino- group, residues with terminal carboxyl group and internal amino acid residues including addition or substitution of amino acid residues and transformation of peptide bonds and functional side groups of corresponding amino acid residues. For treatment of patients suffering with depression tri-, tetra-, penta- and polypeptides can be used both separately and in the composition.
