PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain desalted water with excellent water quality in a short time from start of production of the desalted water, and reduce electric resistance during water-passing operation.SOLUTION: An electric type deionized water producing apparatus has: an anode chamber E1 and a cathode chamber E2 facing each other; a desalting chamber D which is formed between the chambers by ion exchange films AEM and CEM and accommodates a first ion exchanger therein; and a pair of concentration chambers C1 and C2 which are adjacent to the ion exchange films AEM and CEM on both sides of the desalting chamber D. The desalting chamber is filled with at least one of an anion exchange resin and a cation exchange resin in a wet reproduction form, as the first ion exchanger. The concentration chamber is filled with a second ion exchanger. A volume of the second ion exchanger when taken out of the concentration chamber after a desalted water production step in the electric type deionized water producing apparatus is 103% to 125% of the volume of the concentration chamber.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
