PURPOSE:To prevent an error in current vehicle position from being generated by comparing the current vehicle position with map data and correcting the current vehicle position onto a map. CONSTITUTION:A current vehicle position signal detected through an azimuth sensor 2, a vehicle speed sensor 3, an antenna 4, etc., is supplied to a control part 5, which performs data processing to find the current vehicle position data. Then when specific operation is performed from an input part 9, the control part is put in operation to read map data out of a storage part 6 and displays a map on the screen 10a of a display part 10. Further, the current vehicle position is displayed on the map displayed on the screen 10a according to the current vehicle position data obtained by the sensor 2, etc. Then the current vehicle position data is compared with the map data sequentially and the current vehicle position is corrected and displayed on a road on the map. Further, a mode switching means 11 supplies the control part 5 with a command for switching between a mode wherein the current vehicle position is corrected onto the road on the map and a mode wherein no correction is made. |
