The unit according to the invention includes a chamber (2) for evaporation/concentration of a heat-sensitive solution, which operates continuously under vacuum and in which a first part of the vapour given off by the evaporation compartment (4) of the chamber is used as heat source for the condensation compartment (6) of the chamber by means of a first thermal compressor (36A) using a driving vapour (steam) given off by a boiler (40). A second part of the vapour given off in the evaporation compartment (4) is conveyed to the condenser by means of a second thermal compressor (36B), fed with driving vapour by the boiler (40), the condenser being supplied with a cold source by a cooling tower (50). The solution concentrate obtained in the evaporation compartment (4) is collected in a concentrate vat (22). <IMAGE>
