PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera system consisting of a camera main body and a display device connected to the camera body via a communication means that can attain smooth remote control. SOLUTION: The camera system includes the camera body, a display monitor that displays image data picked up by the camera body and a mode entry means that sets a photographing mode of the camera body, and also includes a display device that is a separate unit from the camera body and the communication means, that makes communication of mode setting information and the image data between the camera main body and the display device.
