METHOD FOR IDENTIFYING WHETHER WIRELESS TERMINALS ARE REACHABLE WITHIN BASE STATION COVERAGE IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method to identify whether wireless terminals are reachable within a base station cell coverage area in a wireless communications system by using a timing control order and timing control signals. SOLUTION: The base station transmits a paging message to a particular terminal. Receiving the paging message, the wireless terminal sends a paging response message back to the base station. If the base station does not receive the timing control message, it is an indication that communication with the particular wireless terminal has been lost. In this case, the base station transmits the termination order in a timing slot.
