PURPOSE:To obtain a received picture high in quality by transmitting transmission original information and simultaneously storing in a memory and transmitting from a page in which the interruption of a communication is generated in a retransmission after the interruption of the communication. CONSTITUTION:Original information photoelectrically transferred in a reading circuit 11 is encoded in a CODEC 12 to obtain encoded original information, it is inputted to a MODEM 15 through a selecting circuit 13 and stored in the memory 14. The encoded original information inputted to the MODEM 15 is modulated and transmitted to a line through an NCU 16. In the retransmission after the interruption of the communication, the selecting circuit 13 connects the memory 14 to the MODEM 15, transfers the encoded original information of one page stored in the memory 14 and transmits. The reading circuit 11 and the CODEC 12 are brought into a waiting state until the transmission of the encoded original information stored in the memory 14 is completed. Thereby, the quality of the received picture of the original in which an abnormality is generated can be improved.
