PURPOSE: A hard hand-off method in a cellular mobile communication system is provided to minimize the degradation of call quality by a hand-off by reducing a hand-off area. CONSTITUTION: A mobile communication terminal starts a call in a boundary cell, or a mobile communication terminal during communication enters the boundary cell from an adjacent cell(S110). The mobile communication terminal responds to a CFSRM(Candidate Frequency Search Request Message) and searches frequency channels of adjacent base stations(S120). If a hard hand-off performing condition is satisfied in the boundary cell during the communication, the mobile communication terminal determines an object frequency channel for performing a hard hand-off among shared frequency channels of the searched adjacent base stations(S130). The mobile communication terminal performs the hard hand-off under the control of a base station controller, connects a current communication, disconnects the channel of the boundary cell, and connects the determined object frequency channel(S140).
