The following description sets forth a process for steel band spray pickling and an apparatus suitable for carrying out said pickling process, wherein the steel band (7) to be pickled slides between two sets of pipes (6, 8) (each bearing a series of nozzles spraying the pickling solution) positioned crosswise in respect of the band feed and facing the opposite sides of the steel band (7) to be pickled.
