PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catheter introducer by which the attaching/detaching of a dilator and a sheath can be quickly and smoothly performed. SOLUTION: This catheter introducer 1 is constituted of the sheath 2 having a sheath hub 5 at the rear side, and the dilator 3 having a flange 10 on the front side. The flange 10 is formed of a hard or semi-hard material. A normal tapered surface FT and a reverse tapered surface FRT are formed on the inner peripheral surface of the flange 10. The sheath hub 5 is formed of a hard or semi-hard material. A normal tapered surface SHT and a reverse tapered surface SHRT are formed on the outer peripheral surface of the sheath hub 5. The sheath 2 and the dilator 3 are formed to be detachable by the engagement of the reverse tapered surface FRT of the flange 10 and the reverse tapered surface SHRT of the hub 5. |
