PURPOSE:To always form an image under a state where a stable developing action is performed by automatically correcting the detected value of the density of developer adhering to an image carrier within a specified range concerning each developing means attached to a device main body. CONSTITUTION:This device is provided with a density detecting means 421 for detecting the density of the developer adhering to the image carrier, and a control means 420 for controlling the detecting action of the means 421 and automatically correcting the detected value within the specified range concerning each developing means 23 attached to the device main body. Then, the detecting action of the density detecting means 421 for the developer is controlled and the detected value is automatically corrected to be within the specified range concerning each developing means 23. Therefore, even when the developing means 23 is exchanged, the adjusting operation of the means 421 need not be performed each time. Thus, the image is always formed under the state where the stable developing action is performed. |
