PURPOSE:To always perform appropriate control with high accuracy by holding a static elimination needle in an electrically floating state when constant current control for the transfer means of an image forming device in which the static elimination needle is arranged is performed. CONSTITUTION:The static elimination needle 11 is provided with a function to de-electrify a recording material P before the recording material P passing a transfer part A is brought into contact with a carrier part 20. When the constant current control of a transfer roller 2 is performed, i.e. when no paper passes (non-image area time, non-transfer time) where the non-image area of a drum 1 corresponds to the transfer part A, the static elimination needle 11 is held in the electrically floating state by controlling a static elimination needle switch 13 by turning off by a CPU 10. In other words, no current flows from a transfer means side to the static elimination needle 11 when the constant current control of the transfer means is performed. Thereby, the constant current control can be performed satisfactorily. |
