PURPOSE:To make operation efficient by generating and displaying a character pattern corresponding to an outline, and converting the character pattern into video data and displaying the data as an image. CONSTITUTION:An optional pattern which is drawn generally on paper and to be recognized as a character in a subsequent process, specially, a figure which is represented in two colors of black and white is scanned by an input means (scanner) 10 and inputted to an arithmetic means (arithmetic processing part) 14 as a group of featured discrete values. The arithmetic processing part 14 binarizes the pattern information, detects the border line between logic 0 and logic 1 as the outline of the pattern, and calculates a group of approximate curved lines or approximate straight lines generated dividing the border line into proper sections. Then the curved lines and straight lines are displayed as approximate patterns on display means (display device and video monitor) 19 and 20 and enabled to be corrected. Thus, an operator can perform the operation while confirming a display screen for the operation (display device 19) and a final target image (video monitor 20) at the same time. |
