CATIONIC ELECTRODEPOSITION PROCESS AND COATING COMPOSITION FOR CATIONIC ELECTRODEPOSITION
摘要
A cationic electrodeposition process and a coating composition therefor which can attain a high throwing power. The process comprises the step (1) of immersing a substrate in a coating composition for cationic electrodeposition, the step (2) of applying a voltage between the substrate (as a cathode) and an anode to form a deposit, and the step (3) of further applying a voltage to the deposit to thereby increase the electrical resistance of the deposit per unit volume. The step (3) serves to form a deposit in uncoated areas of the substrate and the coating composition is one exhibiting a point of time at which the electrical resistance of the deposit per unit volume increases in the course of electrodeposition under constant-current conditions.
