The device comprises a support tray (10), in which the crutches can be placed, and a mounting bracket (12) to which it can be attached. The mounting bracket consists of two half shells (12,14) which can be clamped onto a tubular part of e.g. a wheelchair. One of the shells (14) has a toothed rim (28) with which a matching ring on the support tray engages. The support tray is attached to the shell half (14) with a screw which engages with a threaded hole (27) in the shell.
