A reversible thermographic material includes (a) a base and (b) reversible heat-sensitive registering layer(s) containing an (almost) colourless leuco-dye and a reversible developer, which can cause a reversible change of the colour density of the dye according to differences in cooling rate after heating. Specifically, a surface-modified pigment is used in layer(s) (b).
