PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent illegal service use by a third person even if an authentication procedure leaks by sending an authentication request including the physical address of an inter-computer communication card to a computer of a service provider. SOLUTION: A user U1 of a user computer 2 sends the user name U1, the password PW1, and the registration number U1-1 of the physical address P11 of the LAN card 21 to the service provider computer 1 through an authentication request/answer confirming process 22. A user authentication/answer sending process 103 on the service provider computer 1 performs retrieval from an authentication information data base 11 by using the received user name U1 as a key to obtain a password PW1. The password PW1 is a match, so the process 103 reads the physical address P11 of the registration number U1-1 of the user out of the data base 11 on the basis of the received registration number U1-1 and uses it as a destination address to send an authentication answer. |
