PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the wear of a pressing member for initial torque to improve the durability by constituting a differential device into a device of inner pressing type in which a pair of friction clutches arranged between each differential case and each side gear are pressed by a pressing member arranged on an inner side of the side gear. SOLUTION: This differential device has a pinion gear 21 supported on a pinion shaft 19 rotating integrally with a differential case 3 having one piece structure and a pair of output side gears 23, 25 meshing with the gear 21 and incorporates a differential mechanism 5 of bevel gear type distributing driving force of an engine from each side gear 23, 25 to a wheel side. Friction clutches 7, 7 are arranged between the differential case 3 and each side gear 23, 25, respectively. Each friction clutch 7 is of inner pressing type in which it is pressed by belleville springs 11 which are a pair of pressing members which are provided with a recessed part 39 in which the pinion shaft 19 is fitted and give initial torque through the side gears 23, 25 and a pressure plate 9.
