PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter capable of being easily woven and having high heat resistance, and to provide a gas generator using the filter. SOLUTION: A thick metallic wires 51 having >=1 mm diameter is passed through a pair of gears 52 and 53 arranged in the vertical direction and is held between the teeth 52a and 53a to provide recessed parts on both upper and lower surfaces. The wire is next passed through a gap between a pair of gears 54 and 55 arranged in the horizontal direction to provide recessed parts 51b on both left and right surfaces. A mesh or a woven body is woven using the metallic wires and pressed to form the filter 56. The filter has high heat resistance because of using the thick metallic wire 51. |
