PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a compact and low cost life determination device of a DC capacitor capable of determining the life of a DC capacitor for connection to the DC side of a forward converter accurately.SOLUTION: A life determination device 1 of a DC capacitor 5, includes: current detection means 11 for detecting a current outputted from a forward converter 2; voltage detection means 12 for detecting the voltage of the DC capacitor 5; initial charging means 13 for performing initial charge of the DC capacitor 5 up to a predetermined voltage value with a current outputted from the forward converter 2; current integration means 14 for integrating the current detected by the current detection means 11 during the initial charge period, and outputting a current integration value; capacity estimation means 15 for calculating an estimated capacity of the DC capacitor from the current integration value, the predetermined voltage value, and the voltage of the DC capacitor before initial charge; and life determination means 16 for determining whether or not the DC capacitor has run out of life based on the previously measured initial capacity value of an unused DC capacitor and the estimated capacity calculated by the capacity estimation means.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
