Piston ring seal - with garter spring and double angled joint

The piston ring seal (11) for the groove of a piston (4) is made of PTFE reinforced up to 20% by a filler such as glass fibres and comprising a ring (12). A chamfer (13) on the inside acts as a seat for a garter spring (14) of stainless steel, coated with PTFE or covered by a hose. The overlapping joint of the ring is also chamfered to form an angled abutment. ADVANTAGE - The chamfered joint and the garter spring improve the sealing efficiency.
