<p>A direct spread spectrum communication system (fig. 1) using a high power transmitter (fig. 3) and a short spreading sequence which still satisfies FCC Rule 15.247 regarding power density. In addition to the spreading sequence, the carrier signal is modulated with a phase reversal sequence (fig. 4). Typically, each period of the phase reversal sequence has a duration equal to the total duration of the spreading sequence. The phase reversal sequence reduces the maximum power density of the signal, but is transparent to a receiver (5A).</p> |
