PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet storage device having improved sheet stacking performance while preventing the unnecessary contact of stacked sheets with following discharged sheets and the stacking and placement of the sheets being curled during stacking of the discharged sheets. SOLUTION: The sheet storage device having improved stacking performance during stacking of the sheets with discharge means is formed with a first sheet placement plane, where a sheet placement plane of a stacker inclined to be higher as tending to the upstream in the discharge direction for placing the sheets discharged along the discharge direction of the sheets from the discharge means is at a first angle formed by the discharge direction of the sheets and the sheet placement plane for placing the sheets, and a second placement plane set at an angle greater than the first angle for placing the sheets. It has sheet pressing means to be moved to the second sheet placement plane by driving means such as a solenoid for pressing the sheets.
