PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost exhaust cleaning catalyst exhibiting a high cleaning rate and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: The method for producing an exhaust cleaning catalyst comprises the steps of granulating a short-fiber slurry in which whiskers 3 are dispersed to make a granulated powder 1 coated with the whiskers 3 at its outside and having a hollow 5 in its inside, pressure-molding the granulated powder 1 to form a compacted powder 7 containing the granulated powder 1 having a hollow 5 in its inside, immersing the compacted powder 7 in a catalyst slurry, and drying the powder 7. |
