PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk reproducing device which allows to stop rotation from the side of device even in the CD-ROM reproducing mode. SOLUTION: A disk discriminating means 22 discriminates between an audio CD and a CD-ROM, and in the case of CD-ROM, the CD-ROM mode is started. When a stop button 28a is depressed for exchanging CD-ROMs, a judging means 23 judges whether the external computer is being accessed or not. When being not accessed, the rotation of the spindle motor is stopped. When being accessed, a counter 24 counts how many times the stop button 28a is depressed within a specified period (about 5 seconds). When the count exceeds a previously stored number, the access to the external computer is stopped and an instruction is given to stop the spindle motor. |
