PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealed battery capable of performing electric resistance welding without increasing resistance of current collecting plates. SOLUTION: This sealed battery 10 has a power generation element 18 by layering a negative electrode 14 and a positive electrode 16 via a separator 12. The surface directional edge of the negative electrode 14 and the surface directional edge of the positive electrode 16 have the negative electrode current collecting plate 20 and the positive electrode current collecting plate 22 respectively connected by the electric resistance welding. The negative electrode current collecting plate 20 and the positive electrode current collecting plate 22 have first current collecting members 20a and 22a and second current collecting members 20b and 22b having a terminal connecting part 23 connectable to an external connecting terminal, and run along the same plane, and are separately arranged via a boundary running in the thickness direction of the negative electrode 14 and the positive electrode 16. The first current collecting member 22a and the second current collecting member 22b for constituting the positive electrode current collecting plate 22 are connected to the positive electrode 16 by applying the electric resistance welding. The first current collecting member 20a and the second current collecting member 20b for constituting the negative electrode current collecting plate 20 are connected to the negative electrode 14 by applying the electric resistance welding.
